Headless VirtualBox

nohup vboxheadless –startvm XP </dev/null >/tmp/XP.log 2>&1 &

How cool is that!

Just RDP to the configured port (in my case 3389) on the host machine and there is the VM. Remember to install the VirtualBox extension pack to get RDP support, and then enable remote access in the remote section of the display options for the VM.

Started playing with VirtualBox yesterday, as I needed a clean XP install to test an install. Must say compared to other virtual pc software I have used it seems very good. It just gets the job done with minimal fuss.
